Sarah Dunant published her first novel in 1988 and has since gone on to carve an award-winning career for herself.
Her crime series, ‘Fatlands’ won the 1993 Silver Dagger Award and feature discussion points on cosmetic surgery and animal rights. Her critically-acclaimed Renaissance novel, ‘In the Name of the Family’, was The Times’ Best Historical Fiction of the Year and challenged preconceptions of women’s roles in Renaissance Italy.
We chat to Sarah to find out how she goes about researching her novels, and how she approaches her writing day. She also helps us get to grips with our inner-critics and shares her insights and advice on writing based on her thirty-year career.
