Morning sessions
Plot, pace and structure
Have you started and ended your book in the right place? This session will show how to check your pacing and narrative drive, from inciting incident to resolution.
Character
In this session, we’ll be teaching you techniques to ensure you know your characters both inside and out, and can bring them alive as characters-in-action.
Voice
Whether you’re writing in first or third person, creating an engaging voice that’s appropriate for the story is vital. This session will give you the tools to bring your voice to life.
Afternoon sessions
Point of view and psychic distance
Psychic distance is the most magical and transformational tool in the novelist’s kit. After this session, your writing will never be the same again.
Prose microscope: Dialogue, show and tell and rhythm
You might have a compelling story, but if you don’t get the words right your chances of engaging a reader’s interest are minimal. In this session we’ll look at all the different elements of your prose.
